Deciding whether or not to buy is only part of the decision-making process, as there are many different types of homes, and homeownerships, for you to think about. In this section you’ll get a brief introduction into the kinds of homes and the types of ownership that may be available to you, as well as taking a look at a model timeline of the buying process.

To begin with, you’ve probably noticed that not all homes and houses are the same! While the floor plans and layouts may be different, there are some basic categories that all homes can be divided into. The style of home that most appeals to you will be based on your own personal preference, but you should also keep in mind the location and what you can afford when making a final decision.
